AUTO TRANS DIAGNOSIS - F4A41, F4A42 & F4A51

The "N" range indicator light will flash once per second if a
transaxle problem exists. If indicator light flashes twice
per second, overheated transaxle fluid is indicated. Allow
transaxle fluid to cool by idling engine in Park with engine
hood open.
"N" Range Indicator Light Method
Turn ignition off. Using a jumper wire, ground terminal No. 1
of Data Link Connector (DLC).  Turn ignition on. Read DTCs
by observing flash pattern of "N" range indicator light located on
instrument cluster. First series of flashes indicates first digit of
DTC. Second series of flashes indicates second digit of DTC. Example:
2 flashes followed by a pause, and then 6 flashes indicates DTC 26.
Record and identify DTCs.
IDENTIFICATION. Once DTCs are identified, perform appropriate
diagnostic test as directed.
